How to Save a Life/ In Memory of Karl Hottenstein
How to Save a life was established on June 21, 2007, Karl's Birthday. The purpose of this foundation is to help people into treatment and recovery houses that would otherwise not have access to treatment.

All proceeds go strictly into the program.

This program was developed due to the fact Karl wanted to go to an in-patient facility for help with his addiction to painkillers and was denied treatment. Karl died 6 weeks later after being denied the help he so desperately wanted.

Addiction is not a moral issue it is a disease which can be treated.

How to Save a Life Foundation has teamed up with Livengrin Foundation and has great success working with this facility. Livengrin Foundation will accept people into treatment when it meets the needs of the patient and services with  quality care based on individual needs in their recovery.

How to Save a Life also has teamed up with Pro- Act. Pro-Act provides peer to peer support, recovery housing assistance and mentoring services after the patient leaves an in-patient facility.

How to Save a Life's goal is provide assistance to those suffering from addictive disorders receive the help they want and need. How to Save a Life is giving the chance of life that Karl D. Hottenstein did not have.
